Covitect is supported by DARPA's Living Foundries initiative, with the goal to establish new platform automation technologies that will help achieve its vision of an intelligent engineering framework for biology that drastically speeds the biological design-build-test cycle.

University of Florida

Covitect is working with the University of Florida's BioMEMS & Microfludics Lab, led by Dr. Hugh Fan, to support development of underlying technologies that drive the MimCell™ platform.

University of Colorado

Covitect has also partnered with Dr. Michael Stowell's lab in the Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology department at the University of Colorado, in order to aide in defining and validating applications of the MimCell™ platform.
